If you could observe a GROVEWELL executive coach working with a senior corporate executive, your initial impression would be that you're witnessing a typical executive coaching session.

GROVEWELL's Coaching for Global AdvantageSM does indeed look similar to other executive coaching approaches.  Much of what you know about and expect of performance-driven executive coaching is equally true of GROVEWELL's "CGA." 

It's also true that CGA was intentionally conceived and crafted with the emerging challenges of global business executives in mind.  As such, CGA has several distinguishing differences:

  1. Promoting globally sophisticated business leadership is one of CGA's most critical objectives. 
  2. CGA has been culturally calibrated to be flexibly applicable for business challenges in many world regions, and for delivery to business leaders from many world regions.
  3. CGA's creators have vast experience coaching businesspeople navigating major transitions.
  4. Most GROVEWELL coaches who deliver CGA have had global business leadership experience.
  5. CGA's methodology is founded on a step-by-step conversation between coach and coachee.


It was very important to CGA's creators that their brand of "global executive coaching" not mean merely "Made-in-the-USA executive coaching that's being distributed worldwide."

The coaching of global leaders has been a core service of GROVEWELL for over a decade.  We have learned that "global" coaching should mean customized for use in each of many specific locations worldwide.  For such a program to deliver enduring value, attention must be paid, within each locale, to how it is described and positioned, to the nuances of the coach-coachee relationship, and to its overall approach, pacing, content, and process.  Attention must be paid as well to the context of values and expectations that underlies commercial activity within that locale.  If lasting impact is the goal, coaching must be tailored to fit the local culture in terms of both content and process.

That's why two fields -- executive coaching and intercultural consulting -- have indispensable contributions to make to this innovative area of professional practice.  In GROVEWELL's case, those two contributions yield our unique brand: Coaching for Global Advantage.
