Becoming an Associate of GROVEWELL

Associates of GROVEWELL LLC are selected by the partners, Dr. Cornelius Grove and Willa Zakin Hallowell.  Whenever possible, one or both of the partners meet applicants face-to-face before the decision is made to accept them as associates.  When a meeting is not possible, one of the partners usually speaks by phone with the candidate.

The partners are seeking potential new associates who...
  1. have years of business* experience, especially managerial or executive experience;
  2. are mid- or late-career professionals (all GROVEWELL associates are over age 35); and
  3. have experience working for a global business and living in at least one nation and culture other than his/her own.
* "business" means profit-making business (i.e., not academic, not non-profit), and specifically corporate business.

How to Apply to GROVEWELL

If you meet these basic qualifications, you are invited to send to the postal address below materials representing yourself.  Also include the coordinates of three references who may be contacted by e-mail, telephone, or post.

Please send your materials via letter post to GROVEWELL LLC, 106A Park Place, Brooklyn, NY 11217, USA.

Please state at the beginning of a short cover letter that you're responding to the general invitation issued on this website.

Send as many items as you like.  Examples include a professional biography and/or resume, one or two published articles, client and coachee testimonials, and so forth.  We do not need to see your photograph, but we'll look at it if you send it.

Send only items on paper; please do not send CD-ROMs, tapes, or videos.  Please do not send xerox copies of your certificates and diplomas.

E-mail submissions will be discarded without viewing.  Do not submit your resume or other information via e-mail or e-mail attachment.

All materials received by letter post are opened the same day or the next day.  Their receipt is acknowledged by e-mail. 

All materials received by letter post are thoughtfully reviewed by partner Dr. Cornelius Grove and, if believed worthwhile by him, by partner Willa Hallowell as well. 

The partners do not seriously consider certain applicants.  The reason why is almost always one or both of these:
  • the individual lacks extensive global business experience

  •  
  • the individual is not yet a mid- or late-career professional.
  • GROVEWELL does have a substantial number of active associates who first contacted us in response to this website's invitation, and who were not previously known to either partner, nor to any of the partners' friends.  If in doubt, therefore, please do submit your materials.

    GROVEWELL Seeks Experienced Executive Coaches Worldwide

    GROVEWELL LLC is seeking senior executive coaches in all world regions.

    We are seeking individuals with these characteristics:

    1. Mature professional (age 35 up), male or female, any ethnic/cultural heritage;
    2. Years of corporate managerial experience including, ideally, P&L responsibility or other "line" leadership experience (this is consciously sought by many of our clients);
    3. Years of experience coaching executives and high-potential senior managers;*
    4. Brings wisdom, presence, and “gravitas” to the role of executive coach;
    5. Ideally, acquainted with research and theory from the intercultural field.
    Please note the following:
    1. Only those with years of corporate managerial experience can be considered; especially attractive to us is corporate managerial experience on two or more continents.
    2. Only those with successful prior executive coaching experience can be considered.*
    3. Formal training or certification by a coaching organization is not required for consideration; however, we do prefer to have coaches with formal preparation of some kind.
    4. We are offering only occasional work on an as-needed, “contractor” basis.
    * Ideally, candidates need experience, with positive outcomes, coaching corporate executives at the vice president, general manager, managing partner, division head, Board of Directors, and/or “C” levels.
