GROVEWELL's Repatriate Process
-
-
GROVEWELL provides one day of face-to-face repatriation coaching for an individual or a family returning home from an assignment abroad.  This day is one step of a process that, in many cases, lasts two to four months.

Steps in GROVEWELL's Repatriation Process

1.  An arrangement is made by your employer for you and (if any) your family members to benefit from GROVEWELL's repatriation coaching process.

2.  GROVEWELL becomes acquainted with your schedule, overall situation, and personal concerns.  This information is gathered to some extent from your employer's HR staff, and to some extent directly from you (by e-mail or phone).

3.  A decision is made concerning whether your day of face-to-face coaching will be most conveniently delivered after you have arrived back in your home country, or before you depart from your host country.  (For guidance about making this choice, click here.)  This information is communicated to you as soon as possible.

4.  The GROVEWELL office sends to you via letter post or courier...

»  A short Self-Study Guide for yourself and (if any) your spouse/partner

»  If you have children with you, a short Self-Study Guide for Parents

In addition, the GROVEWELL office sends to you via e-mail...

»  A questionnaire to be completed by you and (if any) your spouse/partner

5.  You and (if any) your spouse/partner complete the questionnaire and return it to clark@grovewell.com.  Your completed questionnaire will be seen only by your repatriation coach and one or two people in GROVEWELL's office.  In no instance will any of your questionnaire responses be shared with your employer.

6.  Information about your repatriation coach as well as your coach's contact coordinates are made available to you as soon as possible.  You may raise questions or discuss concerns with your coach at any time.  You may also contact the GROVEWELL office at clark@grovewell.com at any time.

7.  Your day of face-to-face coaching occurs.  This may be either a few weeks before your departure from your host country, or a few weeks after your arrival back in your home country.  (For guidance about making this choice, click here.)  This day of coaching almost certainly will occur in the comfort of your own home; our coach travels to you.

8.  Approximately one month after the coaching day, GROVEWELL's coach will contact you by telephone to follow up regarding any questions or concerns that you may have.

The decision about whether your face-to-face coaching should occur after you've arrived back in your home country, or before you depart from your host country, should not be solely about convenience.

Repatriation coaching is significantly more effective after the individual or couple has arrived back in the home country...and after life in the home country has resumed for at least three weeks.
